Clay Mills

Clay Mills is the CEO/President of the company. Clay graduated from UNCC with a degree in accounting. While in college, Clay had a vision of starting an equipment rental company. He started the company out of a cattle barn in 1997 and has grown it from there. Mills looks after all aspects of both locations. He oversees all equipment inventory and day to day operations. Clay is also a licensed contractor and helps as needed with Lee Mills Construction Company. In his spare time, he trains and shows Tennessee Walking Horses. Lee helped start the company from its beginning. He has been in the construction business for 45 years, but seen the need for a rental equipment company. Horizon Equipment Rentals provides equipment to all of his projects throughout the state. Mills takes a great deal of pride in his work as well as his equipment companies. Judy Mills

Judy is the Vice President and CFO of Horizon Equipment Rentals and Lee Mills Construction Co.   She also helped start Horizon Equipment Rentals in 1997.  Judy handles every aspect of the company, primarily the finance portion. She is the backbone of the company and strives to make Horizon a success. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her grandchildren. Trace Draughn

Trace Draughn

Trace is the General Manager of the Mount Airy location and has been since it opened. Trace handles all the day-to-day activities. He is responsible for getting equipment to and from jobsites, sales, daily rentals, dispatching, and many other tasks. Trace strives to make everyone have a great experience. We are really fortunate to have Trace as a part of Horizon Equipment Rentals. If you need anything at all, Trace is the man to ask. If he does not have it, he can probably get it for you. Blaine Tolbert

Blaine has been with the company since 2004. Blaine is the mastermind technician of Horizon Equipment Rentals. There is absolutely nothing Blaine cannot repair. He takes care of all the maintenance and repairs on all of the company's equipment. If there is a customer that has any problems while they may be renting a piece of equipment, he can usually fix it over the phone. Blaine is the best of the best at what he does. Dario Saldana

Dario has been with Horizon since the company started. Dario maintains and services all the equipment. He also assists in transportation to and from job sites. Dario is fluent in Spanish and helps to translate for our Spanish-speaking clientele. Dario enjoys running on a regular basis, competing in many races throughout the year. Saldona takes care of all the livestock at Diamond M Ranch each day as well. We are thankful for Dario's drive and dedication to Horizon.

Chase Draughn

Chase Draughn handles all of our transportation around 10,000 lbs or less. Chase delivers the equipment and gives the customer instructions on how to use the machinery properly. It is great having Chase a part of our team. We are so thankful to have him as an employee.

Jose de Jesus Martinez (Chewy)

Chewy has been with Horizon since 2017. Chewy cleans and services all our heavy equipment. He also helps instruct customers how to use and properly care for the equipment they are renting. Chewy is always there for the customers. We are proud to have Chewy on board our team.

Eddie Ray Lovill

Eddie Ray Lovill joined Horizon in 2017. He transports all of our large equipment rentals. Eddie makes sure our customers get what they need and feel confident on how to operate the equipment. Horizon is so fortunate to have someone as skillful as Eddie Ray with the company.

Corbin Mills helps to handle the daily transportation of our equipment. Corbin also helps with all aspects of equipment maintenance. He offers customers instructional knowledge on how to properly use the rental equipment. Corbin enjoys four wheeling and off road RTV riding in his spare time.  Mills is a key team member we are happy to have.

Kent Moser

Kent Moser works in outside sales for Horizon Equipment Rentals. Kent retired from Sherwin-Williams after 40 years. Moser has built long-lasting relationships in the construction field that have carried over. Kent strives to provide our customers with exactly what they need. Moser helps contractors and employees schedule their equipment needs. Kent is someone you can count on and we are so glad he is on our team.

Victor Rodriguez

Victor works with Horizon Equipment Rentals and Diamond M Ranch. Along with looking after the animals on the ranch, Victor also helps to keep all the equipment cleaned and looking good. Rodriguez is a great employee we are thankful to have employed.

Austin Newman helps in transportation of equipment to and from the jobsites. He also helps instruct customers on the proper way to use the equipment. Newman is a Mount Airy native that strives to get equipment to the customers in a timely manner. It is great to have Newman on board our team.

Jeanette Rodriguez

Jeanette is the secretary for Horizon Equipment Rentals of the Mount Airy, NC location as well as the Woodlawn, VA location. She assists in all aspects of the bookkeeping, and day to day operation of the company. Jeanette is very dedicated in making Horizon Equipment Rental run efficiently.
